[Him]." This is a proof for what we have said, and it is clear and requires no [further] explanation.
He says: 'The Pre-eternal Form (al-Surah al-Azaliyya)—the manifestation of Power from within it—points to the attribute of Primordiality (al-Qidam). This attribute negates from its Possessor [the Godhead] any notion of being originated (muhdath), conditioned (mukayyaf), or limited (mahdud). Rather, He is Manifest and Existing to the vision; this is an act of Justice from the Almighty, for He would not create a creation and then task them with the worship of a non-existent entity (ma’dum).'
He says: 'Regarding His saying—may His might be exalted: "Verily, behind me is an Other besides me, and it is not upon you to know that Other," He intended this as an affirmation. "Behind" (al-Wara’) here means the Inward (al-Batin) for which I am the Outward manifestation.'
'And His saying "Other besides me" (Ghayri): He meant something other than my Outward appearance which you witness.'
'"And it is not upon you to know that Other": He meant that it is not within your capacity to perceive the Primordial One (al-Qadim).
