He said: 'Verily, the Visual Form manifest as the Unveiled and the Vast (Anza' Batin)—which declared itself from the pulpits and pointed to its own Essence with Monotheism—is the Pre-eternal Worshiped One (al-Azal al-Ma'bud). Therefore, to whoever opposes us, we say: You have disbelieved, gone astray, and denied [the Truth].'

He says: My Sheikh, who bestowed his grace upon me, told me: 'The Sheikh Abu al-Hasan 'Ali bin Muhammad al-Jinni (peace be upon him) narrated to me, tracing the report back to the Sage (al-'Alim)—may His might be exalted—who was asked about the Manifest One whom the eyes have seen: "Is He [seen] in His entirety, or does the sight perceive one part and not another? And what are the boundaries of what the sight perceives?"'

The Sage—may His might be exalted—replied: 'Verily, that which the sight sees is beyond perception (ghayr mudrak). Yet, it may be seen in its entirety because He is One (Ahad), who can neither be partitioned nor divided.

Just as the hearts know Him yet cannot perceive Him, so too do the sights see Him yet cannot perceive Him. Do the hearts know [only] a part or a fraction of Him? Or do they know Him without perceiving Him? Rather, the eyes see Him only according to the rank of the one gazing upon Him.'
