He says: 'As for his statement regarding the Visual Form—which is the Ultimate Goal—that its parts are disassembled, its attributes vanished, and it returns to its prime matter: He has thereby alluded to a "goal" above it. This is contrary to my doctrine (madhhab), my path, and the path of my Sheikhs—the people of Monotheism, both those of the past (may God grant victory to their faces) and those remaining (may God sustain their protection). For such a claim is false, contradictory, and the talk of the ignorant; we seek refuge in God from such a statement.'"
For if we were to say that [the Form disassembles], we would then have fallen into the worship of an Absolute Absentee ('ibadat al-ghayb), and into confusion, doubt, and suspicion. We would have relegated it [the Form] to the rank of "Nameness" (al-Ismiyya) and denied its "Meaningness" (al-Ma’nawiyya). We would have contradicted our exemplar—through whose path we travel and by whose knowledge we have gained understanding. Were it not for him, after God’s pardon, we would have been like any others. May God gather us in his group and lead us to his watering hole!
