He replied: 'The Meaning bestowed them upon His Name [Muhammad], and the Name bestowed them upon Salman. Verily, he [Salman] was the first to utter them upon beholding his Master in the Essential Unveiled Form.'

He says: 'There is no Cause ('illa) above Him, and no finality beyond Him. He manifested through a Name and an Attribute, calling the inhabitants of both the higher and lower worlds to acknowledge the Visual Form (al-Surah al-Mar’iyya). The believers answered, while the deniers rejected it.'

He says: 'The Form is unlimited. Thus, the Essence and the Form are equal in description; for the Visual Form exists for the sake of Existence (mawjuda lil-wujud), and it is the Inaccessible Unseen (al-Ghayb al-Mani’) that manifests how He wills, without being confined.' 1

He says: 'It has been said: The Keys of the Unseen (Mafatih al-Ghayb) are the manifestation of the Meaning through the Unveiled Form (al-Surah al-Anza’iyya).'

He says: One of the Gnostics was asked about the Visual Form? He replied: 'It is the ultimate goal of the seekers and the sign of the aspirants.'

Footnotes

1Reflect upon his statement: 'Because the Visual Form exists for the sake of Existence, and it is the Inaccessible Unseen.'And compare this to the statement of others: regarding 'Pure Light' and their claim that it is something other than the Form. Note that al-Raddad mentions the 'Form' in his treatise one hundred and twenty-six times.
