He says: 'My statement was not that I affirm a form, except for the Body of the Meaning (Jism al-Ma’na) which you have witnessed.'

He says: 'The Form is not human; rather, it is Essential (Dhatiyya). The defect [of perception] lies within the creation, not within Him.'

He says: 'He is the speaker through His Essence, via the Primordial Luminous Form—the Unveiled, the Vast (al-Anza' al-Batin). The World of Light beholds Him through the Form of Light and the Manifester of Power.'

He says regarding his opponents: 'They claim: "He is an Unseen that can neither be perceived nor witnessed except through the human form." May God curse them and curse whoever speaks their word!' 1

He says: 'Regarding his statement to them: "A Crescent appearing in China (al-Sin)"—He is the Meaning (al-Ma’na), and "China" is the Gate (al-Bab).'

He says: On the authority of al-Sadiq—may His might be exalted—who was asked about the letters of "La ilaha illa Allah" (There is no god but God)?

Footnotes

1Does not their acknowledgment that al-Raddad is the "Greatest of Unitarians" (Azim al-Muwahhidin) obligate them to follow him in these statements and submit to his authority?
