He says: 'And there is one [unique] Form through which He alone manifests, and through which none other than He appears: it is the Unveiled Form.'

He says: '"Have you not turned your vision to your Lord—how He extends the Shadow? Had He willed, He could have made it stationary"' 1 . This means: what it contained of the Essence—I mean the Essence of Radiance and the Shadow—which never changes throughout the ancient aeons, nor within the passing of time. Its Outward is the Unveiled Form, and its Inward is the Meaning (al-Ma’nawiyya).

He says: 'As for His manifestation to us, it is not like the manifestation of Lord Muhammad; rather, He manifests to us through His Essence—the very Essence with which He answered Himself during the [primordial] Call. This is the Visual Form.'

He says: 'Had what we mentioned not been true, it would not be permissible for us to state that the Visual Form is He, or that it is likewise not created. It has been established among the people of this Sect (al-Ta'ifa) that everything beneath the Essence is created.'

He says: 'And the Visual Form is not created.'"
