Both of them encompass them. So the Gate is knowledgeable of all things through that which his Master bestows upon him from the knowledge of the Kingdom and the majesty of the Omnipotence.

So Al-Mufaddal said: ‘O my Lord, the Truth has become clear to me through what you have told me, with clarity and certainty. So inform me of the rest of the letters which Allah, the One, has created, and his Gate is the Oneness.’ He said: ‘O Mufaddal, listen to that with which Allah has supported you, and put your trust in Him. Indeed, He is Most Merciful to the believers who are oft-returning. Indeed, the twenty-eight letters of the alphabet—among them is the Ya, to which the seeker points, and from it, He appears to him; among them are the five orphans, the orphans of His Gate; among them are the eleven stars which Joseph saw in the dream; and among them are the twelve nuqaba; so these, O Mufaddal, are Allah’s blessings and proof in his heaven and earth, and through them, He bestows and supports whomever He has chosen among His creation.
