For the perfection of power is the act, and the perfection of knowledge is the known, and existence’s completion is origination; so open O Mufaddal two eyes of your heart and listen to Lord’s matter and know that the light was not the Essence’s inner appearing from it, nor outer from it being hidden in it; rather light is from the Essence without change or reduction from it when appearing, nor increases in it when hidden. So it is absent in its unseen without concealment, radiant from it without manifestation, separate without disconnection and entering it without connection; like the ray from disk or like the shade from body.

O Mufaddal, your lord who invented the Greatest Name and the Will which created things; and it was not distinct from the Light at the origination of the Name, there is neither addition nor diminution. For the Name is from the Light of the Essence without any diminution, appearing from it without fragmentation, calling to his lord, moving to his Meaning, that is during the changing of every creed and law, to establish the Proof and to manifest the Call, to confirm the affirmer’s affirmation,
