Among them are those who are close friends to you; furthermore, you share with them in souls and wealth, and you hasten to them in all deeds. Their oath is the greatest oath to you; if they are absent, you seek them out, and if they are present, you vouch for their purity. That [is a trial] upon you from Allah and from and His Prophet is a matter to be cautioned against. Allah has indeed forbidden you from that in His Book, for the Mighty and Majestic said: {Let not the believers take the disbelievers as allies rather than the believers} ¹ . And the Mighty and Majestic said: {Indeed, Satan is an enemy to you; so take him as an enemy} ² ."

Then he—may His Might be exalted—said: "These are the ones who do not procreate (la yanjibun), and they are from his [Satan's] party. I shall reveal them to you and name them so that you may beware of them, not find solace in them, and not impart to them anything of the Gnosis of Allah. So be preservers of what I impart to you and be among the grateful to your Master. These are their names, attributes, qualities, types, and crafts:"
