Indeed, You know that better than I, and You are more hearing of my secret before I speak; so do not disappoint my expectation, for indeed You are Self-Sufficient and Praiseworthy." My Master—may His Might be exalted—was saying this and reciting it to us while we repeated it with his speech and learned it from him until he reached its end. Then he said: "Pass the blades; may Allah your Master accept your sacrifice." So we passed the blades in a single stroke and slaughtered them. Then he said: "Press firmly with your feet upon their throats and bellies, and do not allow them to breathe, struggle, or kick with their limbs. Let them taste the heat of their condition, for that is firmer for your deed and better for your acceptance." We did to them as he commanded us until they became still under our feet.

Then my Master said: "Now, take them, butcher them, strip their hides, and cut their meat." Every person among us set toward what he had slaughtered, flaying it and proceeding to joint its meat. The servants were carrying it from before us and taking it to the homes of his masters and his followers (Shi'a). Then he ordered it to be prepared, and various dishes were made for us from it.
