The seven heavens and the earth and all that is in them glorify Him, and there is not a thing but glorifies His praise, but you do not understand their glorification. Indeed, He is ever Forbearing and Forgiving.
And His pure blessings and pleasing salutations be upon His Invented Light (al-Nur al-Mukhtara’) and His Originated Veil (al-Hijab al-Mubtada’); the possessor of every call and guidance, and the establisher of every prophethood and message. By him, one is guided to the Monotheism of Pre-eternity, and through him, one deduces the existence of the Cause of all Causes (Mu'allil al-'Ilal).
For he is His speaking tongue among His servants, His light by which illumination is sought in His lands, His Will by which He wills, His Eye that gazes and sees, His Ear that hears secret discourse, His superior striking Hand, His high-towering Pedestal (Kursi), His Throne ('Arsh) whose extent is unreachable, His side that cannot be encompassed, and His flank (Janb) which the wretched neglected, His Noble Face through which He is invoked, and His profound wisdom which is the ultimate end.
Yet, [His eye] is not like an eye of physical vision and eyelids, nor a hand of palm and fingers, nor a tongue contained by the uvula, nor a face like the perishing faces, nor a house like built houses, nor an instrument like fleshy instruments, nor a limb like known limbs, nor an organ like described organs. Rather, he is the locus for all attributes and the site for widespread descriptions. All attributes of Meaning (al-Ma’na)—sanctified and exalted be He—fall upon him, and all His descriptions return to him.
