According to the People of the Inward (Ahl al-Batin), the personified essence (Shakhs) of the Adha is al-Qa’im, may His Might be exalted. It is his manifestation with the sword and his shedding of the blood of every adversary, peer, obstinate opposer, and dissenter; and seeking nearness to Allah the Almighty by shedding their blood. Allah shall not leave upon the face of the earth any adversary or obstinate opposer but that they shall perish. This is the first day of the Radiant Return (al-Raj‘a al-Bayda’), the Luminous Recurrence (al-Karra al-Zahra’), and the Unveiling of the Covering. It is the day which the commonality (al-’Amma) call the Day of Resurrection. It is the day concerning which Allah the Almighty said: {We gave you back the recurrence [of victory] over them and We aided you with wealth and children and made you more numerous in manpower} 1 .
And the Majestic Speaker said: {It is He who sent His Messenger with guidance and the religion of truth to manifest it over all religion, although the polytheists dislike it} 2 .
The indication in this verse was toward al-Sayyid Muhammad, and he is al-Qa’im, may His Might be exalted.
