A SECOND SUPPLICATION FOR THE MIHRAJAN UPON THE LETTERS OF THE ALPHABET

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

O Allah, grant us success in the world and in religion, and turn away from us the plot of the plotters, and the Iblises and the Satans. In You we seek help, to You is the refuge, and upon You we rely. You are the Cave of the allies and the Fortress of the righteous believers.

O Allah, indeed I ask You by Your Greatest Name, for Your saying: “We shall repel the plot of the rebellious Satans, and We shall send upon them a flame of fire and copper, so they shall not triumph.”

O Allah, by the fire of denial, burn them, a letter [at a time], and suffice us against their tribulation by Your power.

O Allah, establish the Hour by Your command on this day of Yours, and make us among the party of its obedience and the followers of the One Manifest within it. So You may destroy every doubting tyrant, and [that] every defiantly disobedient one is punished, and the disbeliever says: “Oh, I wish that I were dust!”

O Allah, indeed I ask You—humbly, seeking, desiring—and I seek mediation with You—poor, abased—that You gather the union of Your allies on this day upon the Enduring Word of Piety, in the
