The Supplication of Eid al-Fitr
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
O Allah, O my Master, You are the High, the Great; there is no god but You, and none is worshiped besides You. You are exalted far above what the wrongdoers say. O Allah, I bear witness that Muhammad is Your Praised Name (Ismuka al-Mahmud), Your intended Place, and Your present Veil. And [I bear witness] that he is the personified essence (Shakhs) of this day, whose outward (Zahir) You have proclaimed and whose inward (Batin) You have magnified. You have chosen those upon whom You bestowed the favor of Your Gnosis and the submission to his outward and inward. It is the day in which You manifested Yourself and the locus of Your sanctity; thus, through him, Islam was realized and the fasting was broken. It is a festival for the believers and a salvation for the Gnostics. You commanded therein the maintaining of ties and the gathering for reminder (Mudhakara), as it is the day of preparation and adornment in which You manifested
Your Name with clarification and tranquility. Thus, he who knew it succeeded, and he who was ignorant of it perished.
