And His saying, may His Might be exalted:

{He who obeys the Messenger has obeyed Allah} ¹ .

Due to the greatness of the Messenger's station—may Allah bless him and his Family—and what he manifested therein, it became obligatory to venerate Eid al-Fitr and for it to be the first of the festivals, just as al-Sayyid Muhammad is the first of the numbers. This is because he, may His Might be exalted, made permissible therein everything that 'Abd Allah had prohibited during it [the fast] in anticipation of his manifestation; and Allah is sufficient for me and all-sufficing.
