And He changed and altered the apparent Grace (Ni'ma) they [the Persians] were in—which had been withheld from the Arabs and had been granted to the Persians: [namely] the observance of Nowruz and the joy and delight within it, and their drinking of pure wines (Sarat) in their festivities, and their use of aromatic plants and flowers based on the realization of the knowledge of their Persons (Ashkhas).

And know that when the Manifestation (Zuhur) reached Sabur ibn Ardashir ibn Babak Shahanshah, there was a brief Interval (Fatra). The Upholder (Al-Qa'im) of it was three Persons, who are Sharwin, Kharwin, and Khusraw.

And in this Manifestation, the Master, may His power be exalted, manifested the imagining of illusions (Takhyil al-Khayalat), the working of Nayranjat (magic/incantations), the burning of Samajat (effigies/masks), and the kindling of fires on the nights of Sadhiq 1 .

And [He manifested] the tying of wreaths of Myrtle (As) and Adharyun on the day of Nowruz and its night, and amusement.

And He commanded the display of joys, the strumming of lutes ('Udan), and all other instruments of diversion and musical tools which He had manifested in the two preceding Stations (Maqamayn): Ya'il ibn Fatin and Ham ibn Kush.

1Sadhiq: The night of fuel/kindling. All of that is Arabized Persian. [Refers to the Sadeh festival].
