I said: "O my Master, a question."

He said: "Ask about what appears to you."

I said: "What do You say regarding His saying, the Almighty: '{But he has not broken through the difficult pass'?}" 1

He said: "O Abu Basir, We are that Difficult Pass (Al-Aqaba). So whoever aims for Us is saved, and whoever stays behind from Us goes astray, errs, and plunges into the Fire."

I said: "Your word is the Truth. '[It is] the freeing of a slave'?" He said: "O Abu Basir, there is no freeing of the neck of this world except through the Walaya of Ali, the Commander of the Faithful, from him be mercy and satisfaction."

And among what was narrated of the reports of the Persians: That [at] the first Manifestation of Allah the Almighty among them, the people asked the Intermediary (Al-Wasita) who was between them and their Master for a revealing miracle. He said to them: "When it is tomorrow, go out to your desert, for you will see your Lord descending upon you from the sky to the earth." So they went out in the evening (Ashiyya) of the day of Nowruz, at the time of Asr (afternoon). They looked at the sky, and its gates had opened.
