So when Allah manifested Adam in the image of those bodies and commanded the angels to prostrate, they prostrated. And He commanded Iblis, but he refused; so that Allah’s judgment regarding him might be executed and Allah’s Argument (Hujjah) against him might appear.
So Iblis, may Allah curse him, said: 'I am stronger than these bodies to which You commanded prostration; for I enter into them, but they do not enter into me.'
When Allah knew that from him, He commanded the sky and drove the clouds, so they rained a rain. And the drop would fall into a body among those bodies Luminous [bodies], so it speaks the Oneness (Tawhid) of Allah, Mighty and Majestic, and the drop becomes a spirit (Ruh) within it. So from this rain is the spirit of everything.
And Allah, Mighty and Majestic, commanded the disobedience of Iblis to become a fire against him, blazing around him and around his followers. When Iblis saw that, he asked for respite until the Day of Resurrection and the Arising (Ba'th). He was not answered to that, but was answered until the Day of the Known Time (Yaum al-Waqt al-Ma'lum), which is the Manifestation of the Qa'im, may His Might be exalted.
