I asked my Master As-Sadiq, may His Might be exalted, about the Batin (inner reality) of Nowruz.
He, may His Might be exalted, said: "O Mufaddal, it has a hidden Batin and an 'Alawi secret."
Al-Mufaddal said: I said, "O my Master, then favor Your servant with the knowledge of that."
As-Sadiq, may His Might be exalted, said: "I will do that. Know, O Mufaddal, that Muhammad, may His Might be exalted, manifested in a Persian Dome (Qubba Farisiyya), He and Salman, with two names and two attributes. The two attributes were the Tuft (Turra) and the Pleated Tunic (Qiba Mushannaj). The name of the Mim was Tanakhusraw, and the name of Salman was Al-Kayyim.
They were in this Dome for years; Muhammad, may His Might be exalted, calling the People of the Interval (Ahl al-Fatra) to the Oneness (Tawhid) of Allah, Mighty and Majestic, and Salman calling the people to acknowledge the Prophethood of Muhammad, may His Might be exalted. But the people only increased in insolence and aversion.
The people used to prefer deformed figures (Ashbah Mushawwaha) which were in the images of devils, intending by that to terrorize the Mim and the Sin—peace be upon the mention of both.
