Mention of the Day of Nowruz
It is the fourth day of April in every year, and it holds great honor. It is the first day of the Persian year, of the month called Akhrodin Mah. It is a praiseworthy day, of great importance and majestic decree with Allah the Almighty and with the Masters (Mawali), may Their Might be exalted.
And [regarding] what has been narrated concerning it of great merit from Them, may Their Might be exalted; I mention to you, O my master, what I have heard and transmitted, by the help of Allah and the goodness of His success.
Know, may Allah support you with His obedience, that the Persian Kings, the Akasira (Chosroes), observed it and manifested its magnification. They used in it wreaths of Myrtle (As) and Adharyun, and the sprinkling of water; for that reason, it was named Nowruz. They manifested gifts among themselves, and greetings with Myrtle, Adharbun (Adharyun), and olive leaves, and presents. They sought blessings in it with the greatest blessing there is.
For the Master (Al-Mawla), may His Might be exalted, was Manifest (Zahiran) in the Persian Kings. And He manifested His Name, His Gate (Bab), and the Ranks of His Holiness—the Great Luminous World—from them be peace.
