Muhammad ibn Jundub said:
"Muhammad ibn Nusayr did not complete this explanation which he explained to me from my Master, and what He promised upon fulfilling it, and what He threatened upon turning away from it, before my soul and my spirit almost departed from between my sides.
I said to Muhammad ibn Nusayr: 'Indeed, I know a group in Al-Askar who will hasten to what you mentioned, and a group who will sit back from that.'
He said: 'Whoever does it, that one is provided for (Marzuq); and whoever sits back from it, that one is deprived (Mahrum). And the trial (Mihna) must inevitably occur, just as it occurred to Muhammad ibn Nusayr.'
I said: 'I bear witness by Allah that it is as you say.'
He said: 'Do you not love that the one who comes to this matter which He commanded, be in a station he occupies close to me: giving life, causing death, providing sustenance, and doing whatever he wills and desires? And the Command belongs to him from his Master, doing that by His command.
