I entered upon my Master while I was trembling from what I had witnessed and what had appeared to me of His Power and His Will regarding His Awliya (devotees) and the empowerment of His chosen ones. When I stood before Him, I fell on my face, prostrating to His Greatness. He said to me: "Lift your head, O Muhammad ibn Nusayr." I lifted my head and said: "O my Master, what state has preceded from Muhammad ibn Nusayr to warrant this trial?"

He said to me: "By Muhammad ibn Nusayr's negligence in informing the Awliya of Allah of the virtue of this day, and commanding them with what I commanded to be practiced and united upon in it: of gathering, visiting one another, partaking of blooming plants as food, mixing of 'Abd al-Nur (likely wine/drink), pouring water, perfuming with Khaluq and saffron, and the forgiveness among them of one another.

And the gifts, the seeking of affection, the connection, and the merit in it belong to the initiator and the one striving to fulfill the right of his brother in what he was commanded and what Allah the Almighty made obligatory upon him. Even if he had killed him a thousand times, and cut his hand a thousand pieces; for by that [act of forgiveness/connection], he will have a swift deliverance from the Mixture (Mizaj) and the finding of the knowledge of Acceptance.
