Report of the Seventeenth Day of March

Know, may Allah support you, O brother, that this appointed time (Miqat) was only intended to mean the descent of the Sun into the Sign of Aries. Its descent into the Sign of Aries in the Ja'fari Station (Maqam) was on the thirteenth of March. So the Adversaries (Azdad) wanted to mock them, so Imam Ja'far, may His Might be exalted, commanded them to delay it so that they [the Adversaries] would not notice them. So they did not feel secure until after three days. So they fulfilled their appointed time in it, then dispersed, and it became a custom (Sunnah) for them until now. So understand that and ponder it. And whoever chooses precaution, let him perform it on the thirteenth and on the seventeenth of every year.

And it is among what was extracted from the "Book of Luminous Cycles (Akwar) and Periods (Adwar)," the saying of the Master Abu Shu'ayb, to him belongs submission, to Muhammad ibn Jundub:

"O Muhammad, did you know that I entered on the day of Nowruz upon my Master Al-Hasan Al-Askari, may His Might be exalted. When He looked at me, He said to me: 'O Muhammad.' I said: 'At Your service (Labbayk), O my Master.' He said: 'Indeed, I have a Wali in the White Land of China (Bayda' al-Sin) who perished a thousand years ago, and this is the day of Nowruz, so go and revive him.'
