When I was in al-Baqi', I heard a great clamor, weeping, wailing, and a commotion—I had never heard anything greater, higher, or more intense than those sounds.
Suddenly, my Master was there, in the middle of al-Baqi', sitting upon a throne that radiated light; His outward could be seen from His inward, and His inward from His outward. I realized it was a throne made of jewels. I said: 'Glorified is Allah! How high is the rank of my Master, and how great!'
When I drew near to Him, He said to me: 'O Salman, on a night like this, do you stay behind [away] from Me?'
I said: 'O my Master, Salman did not know of Your location this night.'
He said: 'O Salman, this is the night in which every wise command is distributed (Surah Al-Dukhan, 4).'
I said: 'Who distributes it, O my Master?'
He said: 'I do, O Salman.'
I said: 'My Master, I hear a great disturbance, a clamor, and a clash of voices, yet I see no one; it is as if al-Baqi' is shaking beneath me!'
He said: 'O [Salman] do you not see the worlds gathered around you in al-Baqi'?" I said: 'No, my Master.'
