You will find them, O Salman, complaining to you of what you did to them, pointing to the places of the wounds and the slaughter, and they will say to you: "O Abu Abd Allah, the greatest pain is in our knees, our upper arms, our forearms, our wrists, our backs, and our feet." Then they will say to you: "O Abu Abd Allah, this which we are experiencing, we have seen it in a dream and witnessed it; it is happening to us, and it has indeed become true and realized in wakefulness."'
I departed from the presence of the Commander of the Believers—may His Might be glorified—and entered upon them to visit them as my Master had commanded me. Whenever a visitor would ask them, they would say: 'An illness that befell us, [consisting of] fever and blood.' But when the gathering was empty, I asked them about their condition, and they explained to me everything that my Master, the Commander of the Believers—majestic is His power—had told me. They were pointing to the places of the wounds and the slaughter, and I inspected their bodies in those places to which they pointed, and I found the marks of the wounds and the slaughter I looked at the marks; they were clear, with no ambiguity in them. They were pointing to all of that, explaining everything that had happened to them, and insisting that it had been a dream. I would say: 'By Allah, you both know that it was not a dream, and that it is the absolute truth.'
I came to my Master, the Commander of the Believers—may His Might be glorified—and informed Him of that.
