When he saw me, he said to me .'O Salman, the Commander of the Believers—may His Might be glorified—is awaiting you.' I sat down, and I had barely settled on the ground when my Master, the Commander of the Believers—may His Might be glorified—came out and mounted. I said to myself: 'Perhaps He intends to visit some of the houses of the Ansar.' Then He said to me and to Qanbar: 'Follow Me to the Mosque of Quba.' He traveled, and we traveled.
I said to Qanbar: 'What does my Master, the Commander of the Believers, intend to do at the Mosque of Quba this night?' He said: 'I do not know.' Qanbar and I continued to travel, conversing with one another, until we arrived at the Mosque of Quba. There, the Commander of the Believers was sitting at the door of the mosque, with the mule standing beside Him. There were two huge camels kneeling at the door of the mosque, stretching their necks and heads along the surface of the earth toward my Master, the Commander of the Believers—may His Might be glorified. When we approached, He arose and said: 'Take these two camels and mount them.'
We said: 'O our Master, where are their stirrups 1 that were upon them?' He said: 'Mount and do not ask about anything.' I mounted, and Qanbar mounted.
