We said: "Then seek permission for us to enter upon him, and inform him of our presence."
They [the two narrators] said: So she entered upon him and informed him of our presence. Then he came out to us while wearing a waist-wrapper (Mithzar), wrapped (Mahtabi) 1 in his cloak, wiping his face.
We disapproved of that [state] from him, so he said: "No harm upon you two." for I had performed the ritual bath (Ghusl) for the Eid. "We said to him: "And is it a day of Eid?!" 2 . And it was the ninth day of the month of Rabi‘ al-Awwal. They [the two narrators] said: So he brought us into his house and seated us on a couch of his, then he said to us: "I headed to my Master, Abu al-Hasan al-Askari (may his might be mighty), with a group of my brothers, just as you two have headed to me. He was in (Surra Man Ra’a) (Samarra). We asked permission to enter upon him, and he permitted that for us. So we entered upon him on a day like this, and it was the ninth day of the month of Rabi‘ al-Awwal.We saw our Master (peace be upon him) had instructed every one of his servants to wear whatever new clothes they could. And before him was a censer (Mijmarah) and he was burning Oud (incense) himself.
