The Supplication of the Festival of the Ninth

In the Name of God, the Compassionate, the Merciful

Praise be to God, by the glimmer of the light of Whose Throne’s radiance the lamps of the darknesses were set aglow; and from fear of Whom the firm mountains, the earths, the Stations (Maqāmāt), and the seven upper heavens crumbled.

[He] in whom is every Praised Station, existing description, sought-after gate, qualified name, and resurrected veil. By him, the Pre-Eternal Ancient veiled Himself, and He established him as a path and a guidance; through him we seek aid, and to him we turn in repentance.

O God, grant us sustenance from the blessing of this Felicitous Person (Shakhṣ), this Glorious Festival, this Praised Day, and this Witnessed Time—a light by which we may prevail over 1 Your enemies and our enemies. O You who has no opposite and no peer.

And make him lawful for us and with us [united], just as You said—and Your word is the Truth:{Brethren, on couches, facing each other} 2 .
