I have known what he asked you about. May God bless you in what has come to you; so stand in it with justice.' I said: 'Yes, O my Master, I shall do that.'
I went early to him and said to him: 'He has acceded to informing you of what you asked.' He praised God and extolled Him. I informed him [of the knowledge], and he accepted and listened with the best of listening and the best of acceptance. He began to frequent the house of my Master, and today he is among the most beneficial of believers and the strongest of them in maintaining ties with his brothers.
I came to him one day accompanied by some of my brothers regarding a need that had occurred to us. We informed him [of our arrival], and he came out to us, though we had not yet revealed our need to him. He detained us with him and seated us. Then he brought a group of our brothers. Behold, he had fulfilled [hospitality] and prepared every novelty and gift. We ate, drank, and perfumed ourselves; he gave us gifts and bestowed wealth upon us.
Then he asked us about what we had intended [in coming] to him. We informed him that we had come regarding such-and-such. He fulfilled our need completely and perfectly, and we departed from him. He had loaded us with the graces of God, our Master—wealth for which we offer thanks, though none of us can fully encompass the praise due for it.
