That statement from my Master was better than the wealth, multiples and multiples over. For by his word, I was blessed until I possessed twenty estates, a hundred shops, and as many houses, generating for me three hundred dinars a month.
And what comes from the estates is even more and greater. My brothers and I became free of need for Ḍarb 1 and Taṣarruf 2 . And my Master said to me following his statement:"
'Rise, may God bless you. You have pleased your Master and gladdened him with your action and the deed you performed for your brothers.'
So, that which had gone out of my hand—from what I had distributed among my brothers and bestowed upon them—was the amount of one hundred dinars. I met the scribe after some days; he greeted me, welcomed me warmly (showed cheerfulness), inclined towards me, and embraced me. I walked with him to his house and spent my day with him.
My heart was preoccupied with the loss of the note from under my pillow, and his mention in his note: (Your note has arrived).
