I ordered the preparation of food and drink, and I spared no effort in everything I was capable of and [that was] possible for me, until I prepared the clothing for my body and the wealth I had stored.

Then I sent for all my brothers in the Camp (al-Askar) who acknowledge the Knowledge (al-Ma'rifah), and I gathered them at my home. I performed everything my Master commanded me, and I made no distinction between myself and them—their rich and their poor.

When they had eaten and the drink was set out, I presented what I had prepared of clothing, perfume, and wealth. So I clothed [them], perfumed [them], gave gifts, and bestowed robes, until I was on the verge of leaving nothing for myself to fall back on.

When the joy and happiness were complete for me and them, they said: "O Ibn Ayyub, what is this deed you have done for us on this day? It is something we have never known from you on the like of this day, nor on the rest of days."

So I recounted to them my story with my Master, and how he made known to me the merit of this day, the deed and the performance [of good] in it, what he promised me regarding it, and what he commanded. I encouraged them regarding it, obligated them to it, and guaranteed [the reward] for them on his behalf. So everyone burst into tears, regretting what they had missed.
