And God will be turning towards that poor person and purifying him of his sins, [while] being angry with the one who excluded him, abandoned him, was stingy towards him, withheld from him, shouted at him, scolded him, shunned him, and avoided him, until his transmigration (tanasukh) increases in the forms (hayakil) of infancy, until he is brought to the station of poverty and neediness which he deserved in exchange for his wealth, his riches, and his dominion. So He exacts retribution from him for his deed which he did, and he finds the pain of that and its severity. Then He purges it from him if He wills.
So blessed is he who inclines towards his brother on this day, treating him with kindness, connecting with him, and presenting him with gifts, even if it be half a date or a morsel, according to what is possible for him. And there is no concession in that; rather, it implies that [even if] he is unable [to give] except a morsel, he prefers him with it, or a date, he conveys part of it to his brother
As for him who has the means from the wares of this world, it is incumbent upon him to do what pleases his Master, and to desire that which He encouraged him towards, according to his capacity. And striving therein has a more praiseworthy outcome and a more abundant reward.
