Know that I sat with the Master (al-Mawla) Ali al-Askari in this spot while I was twenty-seven years old. And indeed, there were fresh dates (Rutab) before him, and I do not know if they were from this palm tree or from another. He said to me: 'Eat.' So I began to eat modestly."

"He said to me: 'O Ali ibn Ahmad, you will sit with your Master (Mawla) al-Hasan in this spot just as you are sitting with me, and you will eat from the fresh dates from which you are eating now.' So I said: 'O my Master, then what will happen to me?' He said: 'When you want to depart, I will inform you.' Then he will inform you after me."

Al-Husayn ibn Hamdan said: So I said to Ali ibn Ahmad: "Hasten for me, for indeed, by God, my soul almost flew from between my sides."

He said: My Master said to me: "O Ali ibn Ahmad, do you know who was slaughtered on this day, and [whose] curse was publicized and announced on the tongue of every opponent and supporter?" I said: "O my Master, you are more knowledgeable about that than me." He said: "[He who] was slaughtered was the Iblis of Iblises and the Pharaoh of Pharaohs, the Greatest Satan and the Major Pharaoh.
