And to some of the monotheists, there is poetry:

The Day of al-Tufuf, and what a day of distress,

When the Creator met with the enemies.

The Pre-eternal is exalted above death and destruction,

And killing, and humiliation, and tribulation.

Rather, it was a guise cast upon their visions,

Until they saw him dyed in blood.

The noble Sheikh, Hanzala the ransom, has triumphed,

The best of creation, the Master of Martyrs.

And we have added to that what resembles it from the reports of the Apparent [exoteric], and in it are things that are needed.

It was narrated from Abd Allah ibn Sinan, he said: I entered upon Abu Abd Allah al-Sadiq, may his might be mighty, on the day of Ashura. I said: "O my master, I have indeed come to you seeking benefit, so that you may benefit me with knowledge regarding it."
