The Persian Festivals

Among them is: Nowruz Day, which is the fourth day of the month of April (Nisan) each year; it possesses a great nobility and a vast virtue. And Mehregan Day, which is the sixteenth day of the month of October (Tishrin al-Awwal) each year; it possesses a great nobility and is among the special festivals in which there is rejoicing. And the ninth day of the month of Rabi‘ al-Awwal each year: in it occurred the killing of Dulam, may Allah curse him, and it is also among the festivals of rejoicing.

We have narrated from another source that the twenty-first of Dhu al-Hijjah is the Day of Mubahala (The Mutual Imprecation), and the twenty-ninth day of the month of Dhu al-Hijjah is the Day of al-Firash (The Bed). These are all the festivals of the Shia, and praise be to Allah, Lord of the Worlds.
