And indeed, He comes to Karbala on every Day of Ashura, and no celestial nor terrestrial one from the believers remains but that he surrounds Him. Until Allah (Mighty and Majestic) [is manifest]. O Mufaddal, this, by Allah, is the elevation above which there is nothing, and beyond which there is no goal for any seeker.

And from the trustworthy Sheikh, Abu al-Husayn Muhammad bin Ali al-Jilli (may Allah sanctify his spirit), he said:

"I asked my Sheikh and Master Abu Abd Allah al-Husayn bin Hamdan al-Khasibi (may Allah make his face radiant) regarding the horse that trampled [at] Karbala."

He said: "Ahmad bin al-Khasib narrated to me, from Yahya bin Ma'in, from al-Mufaddal bin Umar, from Jabir bin Yazid al-Ju'fi (submission be to them), he said:

'I asked my Master Ja'far bin Muhammad al-Sadiq (Mighty is His Glory) regarding the horse that trampled [at] Karbala.'

He said: 'It was a pure black horse. He is the killer, the trampler in every cycle (Kawr) and era (Dawr); and he is Abu Lu'lu'ah (may Allah curse him).'"
