"And He manifested the vision, and the verse is in His saying: {'Indeed, I see in a dream that I am slaughtering you, so look at what you see.'} 1 .
And the submission, and laying [him] down on the forehead, and the ransoming with the Great Sacrifice (Dhibh Azim).
The common people (al-Ammah) narrated that the Great Sacrifice was a black-and-white, wide-eyed, horned ram sent down from Paradise. But the ram they described is not superior to Ishmael up to his saying: "In the narration of the Imamiyyah and the Mufawwidah, [they say] that the Great Sacrifice is al-Husayn bin Ali, because in the [World of] Shadows (al-Azilla), Ishmael knew that the slaughter would befall him through Abraham's vision. So Ishmael said, looking at his descendants and the elite among them: 'Who among you will bear this slaughter on my behalf?' The descendants held back, except al-Husayn, for he said: 'I, O Father, will bear it for you.' So he bore it, and he is the one who was at Karbala.
And they said regarding the saying of Allah the Exalted: {'And We ransomed him with a Great Sacrifice'} 2 that it is al-Husayn, because he is greater in worth than Ishmael.
