Jabir said: I saw the Indian man inclining toward the Master’s speech with his whole being until he fully absorbed his words. He then clung to the hem of my shirt and said: "A place, even if after a while." Then Jabir bin Yazid [al-Ju'fi] came out promptly and offered him peace. He said: So he released my garment and clung to Jabir’s garment and said: "A Gate of Wisdom and a Generous Lord." Jabir brought him into the presence of his Master. When he stood before him, he raised his hand toward the heaven and said: "O Allah, indeed the House is Your House, the Sanctuary is Your Sanctuary, and this is the Blessed Spot; so connect my weakness with a strength from You, and there is no power but through You, O All-Knowing (al-Alim)." Jabir said: I saw my Master strike his hand beneath the prayer rug and extract a fresh palm, as if it had been severed at that very moment. He joined it and placed it upon the forearm of the Indian. I say in truth: I saw the veins extending one to another and the blood flowing from one into the other, as if it had never separated from him. Then he said: "Proceed and ascend, proceed and ascend." Then he began saying:
From us, you have a Hand through which you shall triumph [for] eternity
So proceed in praise of it and shimmer
And from it, give the one in the right a quenching drink; for from Me
The righteous seeker desires a union (Ittisalan)
