And on his authority, with his chain of transmission to Sheikh Abu Abd Allah al-Husayn ibn Hamdan al-Khasibi—may Allah raise his rank—linking it to the Lord Messenger—Exalted is His Majesty: When he addressed the people on the Day of Ghadir and manifested the Prince of the Believers—Exalted is His Majesty—outwardly and inwardly, revealing what was hidden and proclaiming him before the witnesses of both the higher and lower worlds, the elite and the common among them, it was exactly as his Master, his Creator, and his Meaning (Ma'nahu) had commanded him. That is because He (the Messenger)—Exalted is His Majesty—extended his hand to the people, and the people began rushing toward him in crowds upon crowds, striking their hands upon his hand group after group.
The hand of the Prince of the Believers—Exalted is His Majesty—was above their hands, as per His saying: "Indeed, those who pledge allegiance to you are only pledging allegiance to Allah. The hand of Allah is over their hands. So he who breaks his word only breaks it to the detriment of himself, and he who fulfills that which he has promised Allah – He will give him a great reward" 1 .
