The steadfast remained firm upon the Truth, while the ignorance of the hypocrites and the zeal of the renegades (Mariq) increased. They bit their fingertips [in rage], gestured with their arms [in conspiracy], speakers spoke, croakers croaked, and the ensnared were caught 1 . The renegade continued in his desertion of faith, and a group surrendered with their tongues without the reality of true faith. Yet, Allah perfected His religion and brought joy to the eyes of His Prophet Muhammad—Exalted is His Majesty—and the foremost believers. There was that which some of you witnessed and some of you were informed of. The most beautiful Word of Allah was fulfilled, and Allah destroyed what Pharaoh, Haman, Qarun, and their hosts had produced and what they had constructed. Their ropes of misguidance remained, sparing no effort to corrupt the people. Allah shall strike them in their dwellings and erase their traces, annihilate their strongholds, and soon bring upon them loss. He shall join them with those who stretched out their palms [for power], extended their necks [in arrogance], and were enabled over the religion of Allah until they altered it, and over His judgment until they changed it. The victory of Allah over His enemy shall come in its appointed time; and Allah is Subtle, Aware. In what you have heard, there is sufficiency and a clear message.

Reflect, may Allah have mercy upon you, on what He has called you to and urged you toward.
