Allah, the Blessed and Exalted, chose for Himself after His Prophet a specific elite from His creatures, elevating them by His elevation and raising them to His rank. He made them the callers to Him by the Truth and the guides leading toward Him through instruction, generation after generation and era after era. He originated them in pre-eternity before all sustenance and made them the origin of His lights. He made them speak with His praise and inspired them with His gratitude and glorification. He made them the Proofs (Hujaj) over everyone who acknowledges His Lordly Kingdom and the authority of servitude. Through them, He made the mute speak in various languages in submission to Him, as the Fashioner of the earths and the heavens. He made them witnesses over the creation He created, and He entrusted them with whatever He willed of His command. He made them the interpreters of His Will and the tongues of His speech and volition; honored servants who do not precede Him in speech and they act by His command. He knows what is before them and what is behind them, and they do not intercede except for him whom He approves. And they, from fear of Him, are apprehensive. They judge by His judgments, follow His Sunnah, establish His limits, and perform His obligations. He did not leave the creation in the darkness of the deaf and the blind, nor in the confusion of the mute; rather, He provided them with intellects that mingled with their perceptions and dispersed throughout their physical forms (Hayakil).
