I bear witness that there is no god but Allah alone, a testimony that inspires sincerity and the hidden conscience and the tongue's utterance of it is an expression of a concealed truth: that He is the Creator, the Producer, the Fashioner; to Him belong the Most Beautiful Names; there is nothing like unto Him, since "thingness" itself originates from His Will.

And what He brought into being did not resemble Him. I bear witness that Muhammad (peace be upon him) is His servant and His Messenger, whom He chose in pre-eternity over all nations, based on His prior knowledge of him. He (Muhammad) stood unique, beyond any similarity or likeness to his own kind. He [Allah] elected him as a commander and prohibitor when He established him in the entirety of His universe, in the primordial beginning of his station; for visions do not perceive Him, nor do the musings of thoughts encompass Him, nor do the obscurities of secrets represent Him. There is no god but He, the King, the Compeller. He joined the acknowledgment of his (Muhammad’s) Prophethood with the acknowledgment of His own Divinity (Lahutiyya), and He singled him out with such honor that none of His creatures could attain. Thus, he is worthy of that due to his special distinction and friendship; for distinction is not granted to one who is tainted by change. He commanded the offering of blessings upon him as an increase in his honor and a path for the supplicant toward His response. May Allah bless him, ennoble him, honor him, and magnify him with an abundance that no refutation can touch and that shall never cease throughout eternity.
