I have followed the traces (Athar) and adhered to the verses and the reports, and I have composed this treatise and named it: "The Path to the Relief of Souls and the Guide to Joy and Delights" (Sabil Rahat al-Arwah wa Dalil al-Surur wal-Afrah). To the Cleaver of the Dawn, I pray that He makes it dedicated to righteousness and preserved with success. I have commenced what I entrusted within it of the sublime and momentous knowledge, with what has been reported regarding the merit of the Day of Ghadir.

In this regard, there is a sermon by our Master, the Prince of the Believers—Exalted is Allah, the Sublime, the Great—which he delivered on the aforementioned day. He made known of its merit that which is renowned and promised those who hasten to what He commanded therein with abundant reward, mercy, and the outpouring of benevolence and blessing; for this Eid is the most magnificent of Eids among the people of the Shī'a, and it is a Day of Unveiling (Kashf) for the people of the lofty station.

This is followed by what has been reported regarding the merit of the Day of Mihrajan and Nowruz, and what has been narrated by the men of the Outward (Ahl al-Zahir) and the people of the Hidden, Esoteric, and Symbolized Inward (Ahl al-Batin).
