8-Among them: The day in which the Master Muhammad al-Jawad bin ‘Ali al-Rida—mighty is His glory—commanded ‘Umar bin al-Furat to call [the people] and pointed towards him, saying: "Come to Me through My Gate (Bab), ‘Umar bin al-Furat; for his station among you is as the station of the Messenger of God—mighty is His glory." So ‘Umar bin al-Furat called the Shī‘a by His command, and He instructed him in what was [to be]. That was on Thursday, the sixteenth of the month of Dhu al-Hijjah.
9-Among them: The day in which al-Baqir—mighty is His glory—commanded the Clarification (al-Bayan) for Jabir bin Yazid al-Ju’fi to call unto God openly. He did so, and they took a red-hot anvil and placed it upon his hand until it absorbed its redness [the heat], then he was killed. That day was Saturday, the nineteenth of the month of Dhu al-Hijjah
These are the Arabic festivals that God commanded [His] servants to know, and it is [the meaning of] His—the Exalted—saying: "Three days during Hajj and seven when you return; those are ten complete [days]." 1
Thus, the three are :al-Fitr, the Day of al-Adha, and the Day of al-Ghadir. And the seven: are the number of the seven days which God—Majestic and Exalted—mentioned in reference to the Gates.
