Then, each one of you shall kiss his brother’s hand, head, and eye, and nothing else. On this day, the earth shall not be kissed except as a blessing for the souls of the believers; may Allah place them under His veil and protection. Pray on this day for your absent ones that they may return, for your sick that they may be healed, and for your poor that they may be enriched. Allah is sufficient for us, and all-sufficing. Whatever blessing you have is from Allah. Praise be to Allah, Lord of the Worlds, and His blessings be upon the niches of His lights and the mines of His secrets, and all those who belong to them, with a salutation of peace and a gesture of glorification. Praise be to Allah, Lord of the Worlds.

On this day, Umar ibn al-Khattab—may Allah [curse/judge]* him, his factions, and his followers, in a report we have summarized—said: "Bravo, bravo, O son of Abi Talib! You have become my Master and the Master of every believing man and woman."

From the reports of Ghadir is a sermon delivered by our Master, the Prince of the Believers—Exalted is His Majesty—on that day. My success is only through Allah; in Him I have put my trust, and to Him I turn.
