O Allah, whomsoever I was his Master (Mawla), then this Ali is his Master. O Allah, befriend those who befriend him, and be an enemy to those who are his enemies, support those who support him, and forsake those who forsake him."
This saying reached every individual according to what they deserved. The People of Turbidity (Ahl al-Kadar) heard the saying: "Verily, this (Ali) is the Imam of the Believers." But the People of Oneness (Ahl al-Tawhid) and the believers heard: "Indeed, this is your Creator, so recognize Him, and your Master, so do not deny Him."
It is a day of noble worth and sublime importance. Therefore, it is necessary, O my master, that you realize the virtue of this day: perform the ritual bath (Ghusl) in the early morning, wear your finest clothes, and shed what blood you can of that which Allah has made lawful for you (sacrifice). Gather those of the believers who are present; let no dissenter, servant, maidservant, or child be among you. Present food, drink, and incense. If there is a weak one among you, seek them out with your kindness from what God has provided. Spend freely on this day, for the Lord Muhammad—Exalted is His Might—has guaranteed that a dirham spent therein is repaid with seven hundred dirhams, and the immense reward is even greater.
