The Sermon of the Day of Ghadir
In the Name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful.
Praise be to Allah, who manifested His Wisdom through His Power, and brought forth His Name (al-Ism) from the Light of His Essence (al-Dhat). His Master (Mawla) brought Him forth, and His Meaning (al-Ma’na)—who has no partner, no likeness, no peer, and no equal—made Him manifest. The Meaning is Ancient and Eternal, and the Name is Ancient and Eternal, yet His manifestation is originated (muhdath) by His Creator, Former, and Originator. He made Him speak after silence and concealment, and brought forth from Him every truth and guidance.
May the blessings of the Noble Lord be upon the Radiant and Illuminating Gate (al-Bab), whom He settled in the knowledge of His Gnosis and made him know the hidden inwardness of His Attributes; and upon the Orphans (Aytam) of His Kingdom, the Noble Ranks of His Holiness, the Righteous Masters, the Lamps of Darkness; and upon those who follow them of the People of Purity and those near to them of the Sincerely Faithful.
Now then, O my son, as for the virtue of the Day of Ghadir and the honor which Allah the Exalted has placed within it, and the deeds required of the believers therein: Know—may Allah guide you—that it is in the month of Dhu al-Hijjah, on the eighteenth day of every year.
