This is supported by what our Master Abu Abd Allah al-Khasibi, may God brighten his face, said in his Ghadiriyya poem, where he says:

Indeed, the day of Ghadir is a day of joy

In it, Allah made clear the virtue of Ghadir

And He endowed Khumm with majesty and preference

And the gift that lies within the joy

And with virtues and the treasures among the blessings

A pride that surpasses all who are proud

The day Muhammad called out among all creation

When the eloquent announcer spoke the news

Saying to everyone from atop the trees

They appointed him for His predestined command

Indeed, this is your Creator, so know Him

Indeed, this is the Shaper of all forms

Indeed, this is your God, so recognize Him

Indeed, this is your Object of Worship throughout the ages
