Then He (mighty is His glory) said: "O Muhammad, you have asked about a momentous matter, delved into a deep ocean, and ascended to a high station; so ask God for steadfastness in the knowledge of that."

Then He said: "May God strengthen you with the firm word in this world and the hereafter."

Then He spoke: "O people, listen and obey, and do not say, 'When is this promise?' Indeed, God—Mighty and Majestic—has made for every outward (Zahir) an inward (Batin), and for every inward an outward. God is present within His creation; the believers recognize Him, and the deniers reject Him. So turn in repentance to your Lord and submit to Him before the punishment comes to you, which is the Day of Unveiling (Yawm al-Kashf), the day when no soul will benefit from its faith if it had not believed before or earned through its faith some good."

The people said: "We hear and we obey. [We seek] Your forgiveness, our Lord, and to You is the final return."
