Do not forget me when you leave me, and ask Allah’s forgiveness for me whenever you remember me and saturate your garment with blood, wash your face with weeping, and seek aid from Allah in prosperity and adversity." When he finished his speech, and his noble origin announced every goodness, the Khalil (Ibrahim) cast him to the ground at that moment and lunged toward him with his large blade (Mudyah). The angels clamored and glorified [Allah]; the sun eclipsed and was darkened; the earth surged and quaked; the mountains moved and cracked; intellects were stunned and bewildered; they faltered, changed, were struck dumb, and became lost in confusion; and the jinn quarreled and marveled.
Then Allah said to His near angels: "Cease, for all is within My sight, and I am the Most Merciful of the merciful." When they both submitted to certainty, and he [Ibrahim] laid him [the son] prostrate on his forehead, and the knife passed over his throat to sever his jugular vein, Allah—the Lord of the Worlds—called him: "O Ibrahim, you have fulfilled the vision; indeed, We thus reward the doers of good. You have been patient through the trial, and with Me, you are among the grateful. Indeed, this was the manifest trial, and We ransomed him with a great sacrifice."
Allah has indeed established the religion of your father Ibrahim; he named you Muslims before.
